Hard Boiled Eggs from Mother Hen.

Hard boiled eggs can be cooked in a couple of different way’s, you can place them in boiling water as long as the egg is at room temperature so it doesn’t crack, for eight to ten minutes.

Second Method; is to place them in cold water straight from the fridge for ten to twelve minutes. You don’t need to have the water boiling rapidly just enough bubbles to move the egg around in the pan.

Here’s a cool tip; to get the yolk in the centre of the white, is to stir the egg gently while it’s on the boil.

How do you boil an egg? Grab a medium sauce pan - pour cold water in it, just enough to cover the eggs, place the pan on high heat till it begins to boil, then turn the heat down to medium.

Soft boiled eggs for three to four minutes, hard boiled eggs - eight to ten minutes.

When the eggs are cooked drain the water and refresh them. Peel them and use hot or cold, depending on the recipe you want to use them for.

Other Methods to boil an egg.

1.Place the egg in boiling water for three minutes, if you have a larger egg leave it for an extra thirty seconds.

2. Place the egg in boiling water for one minute, remove from the heat and leave in the hot water for another three minutes. Refresh and enjoy.

How long to boil an egg; Well that depends on what you want it for, a hard boiled eggs will take you eight to ten minutes if you place the egg in a pan of boiling water. A soft boiled egg will take you three to four minutes to cook if placed in boiling water.

Here is a good tip for the health conscious people out there. Soft boiled eggs and poached eggs are easily digested, unless they are served with a heavy garnish such as mushrooms or heavily sauced up etc. Fried eggs are fairly digestible if they are not over browned when they are cooked.

Hard boiled eggs will take longer to digest than any of the others if you eat it whole. If you cut it in small pieces and chew it up for a while, then it will be easily digested.

How to poach eggs.

Before you add the egg to the pan, give it a good swirl with a spoon so the water will be like a small whirlpool, but not to fast, then break the egg in the middle of the pan.

Stir the water gently covering the egg as it swirls around the pan, this will cover the egg so it cooks evenly, it will also make the egg an oval shape.

When it’s ready around three to five minutes use a large spoon with holes in it so the water will drain off, also have a clean tea-towel or paper towel in your hand to catch the excess water that comes off by tipping the egg in the towel.

The best poach egg. Béarnaise sauce to go with your poached eggs, this sauce is a bit temperamental to make, but when you get it right it will deliver the punch.
