Breakfast, a nice cuppa and you're set. This sugar cookie recipe will give you a early jump start to the day.
This one is defiantly not for the diabetics out there, every time we get to work we get into a sugar cookie and a cuppa before we start.
Shopping list to organize
1-½ cups of Icing sugar
1 cup or 237ml of soft butter
½ teaspoon Almond extract
1 egg from mother hen
2-½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon of cream of tartar
sugar for the tops
Method:
Place Icing sugar and the soft butter in the mixer,
and mix on medium speed, scraping down the sides every now and then, to mix evenly.
With a wooden spoon stir in the Vanilla, Almond extract, and the egg, after that is mixed, add the sifted flour, baking soda and cream of tartar, mix all together when that is done, cover with cling wrap and place in the refrigerator for two hours, or until the mix is firm.
Turn the oven on to 375-f or 190-c to heat up. Take about half of the sugar cookie dough and roll out to half a cm or 1/8-inch thick on a lightly floured surface, using a cookie cutter cut your desired shapes.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet
about 5cm or two inches apart, sprinkle with the sugar you have set aside for the tops.
Bake for 7 to 8 minutes or until they are light brown. When done take then out of the oven and place them on a wire rack
to cool down, there you have a sugar cookie recipe to share with your friends or enjoy your-self.
